So hard to understand how a former NBA player, Lorenzen Wright, could be murdered. His body was found on July 28 in the woods in Southeast Memphis. Apparently, Wright had called 911 from his cell phone and the operator heard several gunshots after the phone call had been answered by authorities.
A story few people know is Wright's father had been a good college baller known for his exceptional rebounding. Before he stopped playing, his career was stopped by a gunshot with a bullet that paralyzed him. Lorenzen's dad continued to instruct his son from a wheelchair with the task of making him bigger and tougher than himself. Lorenzen gave his father all of the credit for making him a successful player.
Lorenzen Wright was never a star in the NBA. But he sure was a star in secular Memphis where locals are considered demigods. RIP Lorenzen, I hope your murderers are brought to justice.
